By His Wounds

This Holy Week has meant more to me than any other. Why? Hopefully, because I am falling deeper and deeper in love with my Saviour. I am reading Leviticus in my daily Bible reading right now. In Leviticus 9, Moses and Aaron (serving as High Priests) sacrificed a calf and a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. This would be equivalent to me burning my car (as a sacrifice) this morning before work just to be able to come into the presence of God for worship. Just another reminder of Christ's self sacrifice accomplished for me--He is my sacrifice, He is my High Priest and He is my King. 2000 years ago, Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey--in those days a donkey carried 1.) Kings coming in peace 2.) High Priests on their way to sacrifice animals so that the community could worship and 3.) Spotless Lambs to be offered as a sacrifice for sin. My Jesus rode that donkey as all three on Palm Sunday 2000 years ago. On this Good Friday (2000 years ago), He died . . . He experienced the guilt of sin for the very first time when He bore the sins of the whole world. He took my sin and it died with Him. By His wounds we were healed. 1 Peter 2:24. Watch this video and worship King, High Priest, Sacrifice--Jesus Christ--Son of God.

  1. You are exactly right! I think we as believers should celebrate Easter with the kind of emphasis that Christmas gets. After all, the story of the resurrection is what makes our faith unique, hopeful, and Ultimately Relevant.
On the musical side, you should listen to/get via i-tunes or whatever "Jesus Saves" by Travis Cottrell. It too is quite worshipful.
Thanks again for the encouragement and ministry, this time by-way-of-your blog!
